G'day, we are here to help you get started creating a haven, in your own backyard, no matter how small it might be. We are still learning (life does seem to be one big learning curve doesn't it?) but are happy to pass on what we know so far.

Anne-Louise has nearly 30 years experience in the garden industry. She is a qualified Horticulturist with experience in wholesale/retail nursuries, both in marketing and management, in horticultural research/consultation as well as garden design makeover consultation coordination. She now manages her own business, InsideOut. 

The products you will find on this site are either tried and tested in our own backyard and we recommend them because they work; or we are in the process of testing them out over time. We have chosen them because they looked good and seemed to make sense. We will post comments to help you decide what will be most useful for you. There are so many sites, books etc. it can be hard to know where to start, what to choose and what can be relied on. We are in the process of hopefully making this easy for you whether it is an organic veggie patch, a pond, garden lighting, design tips or keeping chickens that you want more information on.

Our Garden will be open as part of Australia's Open Garden Scheme  on the 15th & 16th of May 2010. Krackatinni is a small suburban garden with a focus on organic, sustainable, creative and high density gardening. The front garden is a mixture of fruit, vegetables and ornamentals. The backyard creates a private and peaceful oasis in the middle of suburbia. Throughout the garden you will find many rustic recycled objects, like the antique pump which we combined with industrial C channels to make a unique pond. Other people's trash have become our garden treasures, we love thinking laterally and giving old things new life. you will also meet our chooks, two Isa Browns and two Barnevelders who love to have visitors and so do we! Come and join us for the full Krackatinni experience: enjoy morning or afternoon tea under the white mulberry tree with the lorikeets; have a glass of organic wine with lunch, under a canopy of autumn grape leaves; taste Rosnay organic wines and olives; be amazed at what you can fit into approximately 630sqm as you chat to us about any aspect of gardening. There will also be raffle tickets, art and garden items for sale. We are located near Penrith, NSW, in Glenmore Park, enter via Mulgoa Rd. Entry fee $6.00.
